BASIC MOUNTAINEERING COURSE 2018

Experienced the first-ever training under the Army team at JIMWS (Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering & Water Sports, Pahalgam), J&K. A batch of 80 enthusiasts were part of BMC-131 team from various parts of India for the inception leap in their mountaineering segment. And it followed with AMC from HMI in 2019.

Had stepped into the heavenly Kashmir and the experience through the landscapes was priceless. We got marinated and finely baked in those 28 days of extraneous training...

Mount Kanamo

The opportunity arrived at my door in midst of May’2017 from my friend to climb Mount Kanamo, the third highest peak in Spiti and the only one that can be done without hardcore mountain gear. In the event, I decided to go to sar pass through YHAI and then spend a couple of days preparing to ascend to the summit, which would involve a two-day climb. We had spent the time in the heartbreakingly beautiful Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh. We stayed at Norling Home Stay at Kibber.....

Sar Pass

Sarpass (passing the frozen lake at summit) is at an altitude of 13,800ft. With a breathtaking view of Himalayas trails. The trek starts after two days in base camp which includes orientation, exercises, and acclimatisation. YHAI has its own good quality camps at higher altitudes.

The locations are so picturesque and camps are put up at heavenly places like:

Day 1, Grahan @ 7700 ft, Distance Covered: 9 Kms

This camp has village feel on one hand and beautiful sunset on the other side. One can witness the sheer culture of villages along.....

Goa Expedition

It all started at Goa, India through staring at strange faces as if we are in aboriginal times, later turned friends. The framework was laid by YHAI for Goa Trekking and GT 13 reported on 27th December 2016, I guess all the groups who reserved and spent their last day of 2016 are no less than a nature lover.

Day 1:

It was a warm welcome by the Goa YHAI team. Made few friends in addition to older ones Mr Ramdayal Mahiwal ji, Mr Mahavir Ji who has joined me during Dalhousie trek 2015-16. Relished the Miramar Beach, Goa which is known for Jelly Fish and one of our crew got kissed by it and I guess...

Dalhousie

When you know, there is an extra-long weekend in the end of the year, you plan early for a holiday. This time we planned a winter trek in the Himalayas. Our destination was Dalhousie from where we trekked up to Kalatop and Khajjiar.

We boarded Nizamuddin Express from Delhi which took us to Pathankot Cant. in the wee hours. From there we started for Dalhousie in a bus. After encountering narrow but smooth roads for two hours, we reached Dalhousie around 4 in the evening. As soon as we reached, we were offered with an amicable welcome by the filed director Mr. Pratap Garu and Camp Leader Mr. Hitesh.....

Hampta Pass

Hampta pass trek is considered the moderate and convenient of all treks in H.P. It is the most sought-after trek and will leave you in awe of this beautiful place. The variation in the trails is enormous; scenic landscapes, open green pastures and meadows, glacial valleys, easy access and an exceptional, adventurous and hair raising crossing of the pass makes this trekking expedition to Hampta pass an exciting one.

Generally, it takes 5 days to complete the Hampta pass trek, but one more day is further added to the itinerary so as to visit the well-known and striking Chandratal, a high altitude alpine lake few hours from Chatru. The best months to trek are May and June and August through October. The reason why...

Sri Lanka 2019

Srilanka has assorted culture and traditions. It shadows the Theravada Buddhism which was passed on from India. You see near no variances in the culture when compared to the southernmost Indian culture to that of northernmost Sri Lankan (Jaffna) culture. You can witness the colonial occupation with Portuguese, Dutch, British etc. Rest of the parts are capitulated by the Sinhalese tradition. It connects to most of the southern India and Southeast Asia. This country is known for its international connect with Cricket, Distinct Cuisines and the holistic medicine practice (Ayurveda). It stands at a decent stage in exports of Tea, Cinnamon and Gemstones especially. Tourism as the main component and renders a distinct appreciation to the guests which we happen to witness at every place during our visit.....
